Shoemaker Wins Brown Prize

Congratulations to Karl Shoemaker, Wisconsin Law, for winning the 2014 John Nicholas Brown Prize of the Medieval Academy for his book, Sanctuary and Crime in the Middle Ages, 400-1500 (Fordham University Press, 2011).  The Academy awards the prize "for a distinguished first book in the field of medieval studies judged by the selection committee to be of outstanding quality."  (This year's co-recipient is Leslie Lockett for Anglo-Saxon Psychologies in the Vernacular and Latin Traditions [University of Toronto Press, 2011].)
